SWCEA produces ceramic water filters for clean and safe water. This organization is based in Arusha, Tanzania and distributes filters in Tanzania and other East African countries. SWCEA employs local people in the production of their ceramic water filters. Mesiaki Kimirei is a Tanzanian potter who has been trained in ceramic water filter technology.
44 million people (46% of Africans) suffer from drinking unclean and unsafe water. SWCEA’s mission is to reduce the rate of death and illness caused by drinking unclean and unsafe water and to provide affordable filters to people, including the poor. SWCEA is concerned about all water problems in our society and works hard to ensure safe and clean water.
