During the Karibu Fair, we were pleased to have a stand near Christine Lott’s stand. Christine Lott is the Executive Director and Founder of Chris Cares International, an organization which aims to empower Tanzanian students to learn, lead and succeed. The organization founded the School of St. Nicolas in the village of Moivaro, Arusha, Tanzania. It consists of 12 kindergarten students between the ages of 5-7 yrs old.
Safe Water Ceramics of East Africa (SWCEA) had the chance to meet Christine during the Karibu Fair and learned that Christine was boiling water to get drinking water for the students at St Nicolas. SWCEA then decided to help by donating one ceramic water filter to the school as the goal of SWCEA NGO is to help reduce waterborne diseases in the communities. Christine plans to build a bigger school at another site that will accommodate much more students.
Christine also sells handmade Christmas decorations to support free education for the students and she will be traveling to her native country the USA this coming July and August to fundraise for the school. To check out her work please visit www.chriscares.org
